- A message from our Chair
Sunday 28 September 2025
To all our CAMRA Yorkshire Wolds members and committee, thank you for making our launch of The Good Beer Guide 2026 such a success.
Ten pubs from our local area made it into The Good Beer Guide. They are:
Board Inn, Bridlington Old Town
Old Ship Inn, Bridlington Old Town
Pack Horse Inn, Bridlington Old Town
Three B's Micropub, Bridlington
To our members, who regularly beer score in our lovely pubs and take part in the annual voting to recognise the entrants who are consistently serving great cask ale, cider and perry. Together with our many visitors from other CAMRA branches far and wide who also come to our area to sample and score their beers. We need your continued involvement to ensure that these pubs are recognised for their sterling efforts throughout the year.
Thank you to Paul Anderson from Trout Inn Wansford, who hosted our launch event and to those licensees who attended: Cheryl Bates from Three B's Micropub, Helen Norman from Pack Horse Inn, Julie Coates and Lewis, Gurney from Moon Tap (all in Bridlington) and Nat Waudby from Butchers Dog, Driffield.
To our Committee members who visited the pubs distributing The Good Beer Guide promotional packs, Cheryl Bates for printing the pub posters, Alan Hutchinson who undertook the driving for us all, Adam Chard for a successful social media campaign and Trevor Wraith who joined us for the Bridlington leg of the journey. Lots of time and effort has been made to ensure that licensees received their information in a timely manner ahead of the launch. All of which were well received and well deserved.
Driffield and Wolds Weekly sent their photographer Michael Hopps to Trout Inn and there will be an article in their newspaper on Tuesday. Thank you Mike.
So, finally, congratulations once again to all ten of our licensees and roll on The Good Beer Guide 2027, for which we are seeking nominations.
Jonquil Beynon
CAMRA YORKSHIRE WOLDS CHAIR

- Are you in the Good Beer Guide 2026?
Tuesday 9 September 2025
CAMRA's prestigious Good Beer Guide 2026 launches on Thursday 25th September. However, if you are the licensee of one of the pubs featured in the Yorkshire Wolds CAMRA area, we'll be letting you know ahead of time.
Between Saturday 20th and Monday 22nd September, our committee members will be making their way round all featured pubs to distribute licensee packs. With a press embargo until 25th September, we do strongly request that you DO NOT announce your inclusion in the Good Beer Guide 2026 until that date.
We are also holding a launch event at The Trout Inn, Wansford on Thursday 25th September, which you are all warmly invited to attend.
Congratulations to all our local pubs that have made it into the Good Beer Guide 2026. If you'd like to know more about getting into the next edition of the Good Beer Guide, please contact us.
If you'd like to buy a copy of the Good Beer Guide 2026, or would like to sell it at your pub, we'll be getting a consignment of books soon. More details to come. - Full steam ahead for the Station Buffet!
Tuesday 9 September 2025
According to the latest edition of CAMRA's Pub Heritage Bulletin, the Station Buffet at Bridlington Railway Station will reopen in spring 2026 as "Belschnickel Bahnhof".
Closed in December 2019, the Station Buffet is just one of two unaltered licensed station buffets on the main national rail network, surviving from the pre-WWII era. Kevin Berthold of the Belschnickel Brewery intends to serve four own-label beers (brewed on premises) alongside three cask ales on rotation.
At Yorkshire Wolds CAMRA, we wish Kevin "viel Glück" and look forward to the reopening of this historic venue!
- Celebrating Britain's best: Cask Ale Week is coming!
Sunday 31 August 2025
Mark your calendars! Taking place from Thursday 18th to Sunday 28th September, Cask Ale Week is a celebration of Britain’s national drink: cask beer. It’s a time for pubs, breweries, and real ale enthusiasts across the Yorkshire Wolds to recognise and enjoy local beers.
Cask Ale Week provides an opportunity for breweries and pubs to host special events or promotions. These activities can encourage new and loyal customers alike to discover real ale. The event, originally formed by Cask Marque, is strongly supported by CAMRA and the wider industry.
How can you get involved?
For pubs and breweries: Consider participating in Cask Ale Week by linking your own planned events to the celebration. You don't have to be a Cask Marque member to take part. Promotional resources are available to download, and you can add your events to the national Cask Ale Week website.
For real ale fans: Look out for events happening in pubs across the Yorkshire Wolds. Check the national Cask Ale Week events page for participating pubs near you, or encourage your local to get involved.
Find out more on the Cask Ale Week website.
