Saturday was a day of high spirits and well-earned celebration at The Old Ship Inn, as locals and real ale enthusiasts gathered to mark a massive double milestone for one of Bridlington’s finest establishments.

The afternoon kicked off with Yorkshire Wolds CAMRA presenting Lena and her fantastic team with the certificate for 2nd place in our prestigious Pub of the Year competition.

A Beacon for Real Ale in Bridlington

Our Branch Chair, Jonquil Beynon, was on hand to officially present the award to Lena - a thoroughly deserved accolade for a team that consistently sets the standard for quality cellarmanship, doing so much for the real ale scene here in Bridlington.

A Decade at the Helm

The Pub of the Year certificate wasn’t the only reason to raise a glass on Saturday. The presentation beautifully coincided with a major milestone: Lena and her team are celebrating 10 years of running The Old Ship Inn.

Steering a pub for a decade is no small feat in the current climate, and doing so while maintaining such an exceptionally high standard of real ale is a testament to their passion, hard work and dedication.

The Beer Lover’s Bible

The Old Ship Inn's commitment to quality is also recognised on a national stage. The pub proudly features in the latest edition of the Good Beer Guide—the definitive, independent bible for beer lovers across the UK.
